The 2022 NFL Draft will be an opportunity for Jacksonville to add more talent to their young roster.

It has been a challenging year for the young Jaguars, to say the least. Jacksonville has only two wins as we enter Week 15. We’ve seen ups and downs from 2021 first overall pick Trevor Lawrence who came into the league with high expectations. Injuries to key pieces and a lack of talent throughout the roster have contributed to the weekly disappointments displayed by this team. What has made matters worse for the Jags is the head coaching fiasco.

Head coach Urban Meyer was recently fired by Jacksonville, it was reported just after midnight on Thursday by Adam Schefter. It was a tenure filled with distraction from the Tim Tebow experiment, to the bar incident following their Week 4 loss in Cincinnati, and the flood of reports coming out regarding a lack of respect towards his staff and certain players. Owner Shad Khan had seen enough. A hire that once created a lot of hope, ended up becoming a controversial failure for one of the greatest college coaches of all time.

As Darrell Bevell enters as the interim head coach, his task for the remaining weeks of the regular season is to figure out a way to get the Jaguars back on track. It is a mess at the moment because their franchise’s culture took a hit as a result of the Meyer commotion.

Having said that, 2022 will be a new chapter for this team. One that they hope will result in more positives than negatives. They’ll be a player in free agency given their cap space along with the fact that a new coach will come in to shift the narrative surrounding the Jaguars. Their young talent is seen in numerous parts of the roster however, their depth is still a clear issue.
