2022 NFL Draft: An early look at the top-25 prospects this year
By Scott Gorman
2022 NFL Draft prospect rankings:
21. Drake Jackson – EDGE – USC
Another talented USC defensive end, Drake Jackson’s best football days may still be ahead of him. With former top picks like Leonard Williams, Everson Griffin, and Willie McGinest, the Trojans have an excellent track record in place for guys like Jackson. He’s one of the better athletes at the position and could stick at either strongside linebacker or DE in the NFL.
22. Treylon Burks – WR – Arkansas
If you weren’t sold on Burks before the Alabama game, his performance against the Crimson Tide changed your mind. At 6-foot-3, 225 pounds with breakaway speed, Burks has been a revelation for the Razorbacks this season. He’s a top-5 receiver in this class and should make an immediate impact in the red zone.
23. Jaquan Brisker – S – Penn State
Another former transfer on this list, Jaquan Brisker made an impact all over the field this season. He’s an extremely versatile safety prospect with the ability to play multiple positions on the back end and the tackling ability to start right away. With the immediate impact of young players like Jevon Holland and Minkah Fitzpatrick in recent seasons, I expect Brisker to be valued highly in the 2022 NFL Draft process.
24. Andrew Booth Jr. – CB – Clemson
While the Clemson Tigers have not experienced their typical success in 2021, they still feature a host of talented players for the 2022 NFL Draft. Andrew Booth Jr. is another talented defensive back in a long line of them for the Tigers. He has excellent ball skills and can start right away on the boundary or in the slot.
25. Kaiir Elam – CB – Florida
Another school with a long history of talented defensive back prospects is the Florida Gators. Kaiir Elam is next in line as another tall, physical cornerback with starting potential in the NFL. He’s got tremendous bloodlines and should go no later than the top-20 next April.
