Why the Denver Broncos may trade up in the 2022 NFL Draft

The Denver Broncos may be feeling the heat as the Panthers seem to be all in on Kenny Pickett. With them currently in QB no man’s land, they will likely have to come up from the 9th pick if Pickett is their man or they want Matt Corral.

While personally, I don’t think either player is a top-10 player, you can’t really win without a quarterback. The Broncos have not had consistent QB play since Peyton Manning left several years ago and seeing a few of their attempts at drafting guys fail.

Carolina is already said to be in on Pickett, and we could also look at the possibility of Atlanta at 8th overall taking Pickett or Corral if Carolina switches up.

Denver would have to make a big move to get ahead of Carolina as the Giants sit right in front of them, and moving them off 5th overall may not be easy, but could be necessary for Denver to get their QB of choice.

The plus side here is the Giants have picks five and seven, which would work out in a positive moving from five to nine having seven and nine adding more picks. They could also ask for Kyle Fuller in return as well which would help out that secondary. Denver would not be mad about that, as there was some talk of him being moved at the deadline in the first place.

Who is the best option to move up for?

Matt Corral seems to be the best fit for that offense, as he is a dual-threat type quarterback, but there is no denying Pickett is the best pocket passer in this year’s class. That Denver offense is just one solid QB away from becoming a legit threat on offense and a problem in the AFC West. The AFC West which by the way is quickly becoming one of the more hotly contested divisions in football.
