The Denver Broncos need a new quarterback. What are their top options heading into the new league year?

It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Denver Broncos need a quarterback. Not just any quarterback, they need a franchise one — or at least one that will stick around longer than a year or two giving mid-level performances. In a division that is quickly becoming hotly contested, they can’t afford to fall behind.

The Denver Broncos have not had a solid QB option since Manning. The Drew Lock experiment did not go well, along with the Paxton Lynch one. Teddy Bridgewater was a good stop-gap this year but showed even with all their talent when healthy he cant take them to the next level.

Denver will have to look outside the team to find a new quarterback, while they will be set up in a good position to draft one. The 2023 class looks like a better one for them to take one in the draft.

Right now most people would suggest correctly the fact the Broncos are the last team in the AFC West. The Chargers, Raiders, and Chiefs have already shown what they could do and if the last game of the season went to a tie, all three of them would have found themselves in the playoffs. The Broncos, however, are not lacking talent on the offensive side of the ball. With the dual-threat at running back with Melvin Gordon and second-year RB Javonte Williams. Along with three solid WR in Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Tim Patrick. They also boast a nice one-two combo at TE with Noah Fant and Albert Okwuegbunam.

With that kind of offense, there is no reason they should not be more competitive than they are, but the quarterback is the key.

They can attack the draft, attack free agency, or make a splash trade. While the splash trade might not be their style going after someone like Deshaun Watson, there could be other guys on the market who they could use to help them for a couple of years. The Free Agent market looks a little cloudy right now, but we could see Aaron Rodgers, Marcus Mariota, Matt Ryan, and a small chance of seeing one of two Kirk Cousins or Gardner Minshew.
