3 quarterback options for the Denver Broncos in 2022 offseason
Broncos could test a fairly questionable free agent QB market
Hit the free agency market, their new head coach has ties to Aaron Rodgers who could possibly be on the market (although this is unlikely). While he will cost quite a lot of money and is already up there in age, his play sure doesn’t show it. He is still one of the best QBs in the league. Adding him to the roster would make them an instant threat in the AFC and would allow them to wait until 2023-2024 to look for who would be his eventual replacement.
There could be several options in the free-agent market as it stands right now it looks like we can count on: Aaron Rodgers, Marcus Mariota, Nick Foles, and it appears Carson Wentz. With some possibility of Tyrod Taylor, Gardner Minshew, and Jacoby Brissett.
They need to make a move now to get the right QB in while taking advantage of some of the best years in the careers of Jeudy, Sutton, Fant, and both of their running backs.
There are a few downsides to this approach Rodgers who seems to be the only worthy player here will command a ton of money. This could be the wrong move for the franchise as it is still moving forward, and will eventually have to pay several guys. Though then again, we saw what Stafford did in just one year with the Rams.
Wentz, Mariota, and Minshew offer interesting options.
All three of them have been starters and showed promise at one point or another. Wentz recently came off a pretty decent season with the Colts, but they seem dead set on moving on from him. Mariota did well in his limited snaps with the Raiders, while he might not be top-15 Qb material he is more than capable of at least leading this team to their next QB.
Minshew might be the most interesting of the bunch, as he has shown flashes of being a legit starter, then at the same time, we have seen him play below-average. He will be going to his most talented team ever if the Broncos pick him up, which could see his play elevate, plus he is a fan favorite.
