WR Javion Heiligh

Jaivon Heiligh is in the top half of the wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he was not among the wide receivers chosen for the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. While it is difficult to say who is the biggest snub of the wide receivers not attending the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, Heiligh is among the top snubs. It is a shame, as Jaivon Heiligh could have been one of the more intriguing prospects during the event.

Heiligh was the top wide receiver in the Sun-Belt conference, but the Sun-Belt conference is a Group of Five conference, and the Group of Five conferences does not receive the same level of respect as the Power Five conferences. In a draft class with high-quality receivers everywhere, several minor details can significantly raise or lower someone’s draft stock, and the conference and school someone plays at will be a factor. Still, Heiligh’s talent is too great for teams to ignore him.

Jaivon Heiligh does everything well, which people can see from a glass-half-full perspective or a glass-half-empty perspective. From one perspective, Heiligh doing everything well means teams can use him in various ways, including as a returner, and he will make it work and find some success. From the other perspective, only doing everything well means there is nothing that helps him separate from the other wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft Class.

When people look at the top wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft, there is something that makes each one unique, so teams can prefer one over another depending on the skills they need in a wide receiver. Each receiver has a flavor that a team may like, but Heiligh is like vanilla, the flavor works for everyone, but most people want something extra rather than plain vanilla. Still, vanilla makes a strong base for something special, which is the best way for teams to look at Javion Heiligh.

A team willing to draft Jaivon Heiligh and take the time to develop him can end up with a player that can do everything at an NFL level. Heiligh is a player who is worth watching in the 2022 NFL Draft because he can fit with almost any team, and he can find a way to contribute to that roster.
