Following the retirement of a Steelers legend, it’s clear that QB is a major priority for Pittsburgh. But could Big Ben’s successor be in the 2022 NFL Draft?
After missing out on the Russell Wilson sweepstakes, and watching Aaron Rodgers opt to stay in Green Bay. It’s safe to say that the Pittsburgh Steelers are itching to find their future quarterback. There’s no doubt that it’s going to be nearly impossible to fill the shoes of the soon-to-be Hall of Famer, Ben Roethlisberger. Although, they might be able to find a worthy replacement somewhere in the 2022 NFL Draft.
While Pittsburgh was able to utilize some of their cap space to bring in former Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky. Which should help to add some invaluable depth and experience to the position.
I still don’t think that Trubisky is a viable long-term solution by any stretch of the imagination. The good news is that Pittsburgh already has a stout defense that includes last year’s Defensive Player of the Year, T.J. Watt, and All-Pro defensive lineman, Cameron Heyward. As well as a young Pro-Bowl running back in Najee Harris. So, whoever lines up behind center won’t be too heavily relied on anyway.
Even though there are at least three other teams (Panthers, Seahawks, and Saints) that could easily draft a quarterback before the Steelers pick rolls around. There’s a very good chance that one of the three following options will still be available by the time Pittsburgh picks at No. 20.
Here are the three best options at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft.
