Round 4, Pick 125: Erik Ezukanma, WR, Texas Tech

There’s no secret that new coach Mike McDaniel wanted to incorporate some speed and versatility into his offense this season with the additions of Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert, Cedrick Wilson, and Chase Edmonds. Along with the 2021 NFL Draft selection of Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins’ offense has been affectionately dubbed the “Legion of Zoom” by fans and pundits alike.

Miami took another step in the right direction with this upstart offense on Saturday with the pickup of Texas Tech receiver Erik Ezukanma with the 125th overall selection. Ezukanma was used all over the field for the Red Raiders the past few seasons. He’s proved to be a weapon in the running game, on-screen passes, in the slot, and out wide as a receiver.

The fascination was obvious here for the Dolphins when it comes to Ezukanma. His ability to help facilitate plays for Miami soon and long-term was a huge draw for a team looking to get back into the playoffs in 2022. And with the AFC landscape improving rapidly this offseason, a pick like this should go a long way in improving Miami’s chances overall.
