With roughly one quarter of the season over, what does the 2023 NFL Draft order look like? Which teams are picking right at the top?  There will definitely be some movement as the season continues on, as we still have 13 more games to go, but one quarter of the season being over can allow us to take a look at the 2023 NFL Draft order using Tankathon.

2023 NFL Draft order through one quarter of the season

1. Houston Texans

As much as I like Davis Mills, the Texans being this high does indicate that they might need to take one of the top quarterbacks if they finish with the top selection

2. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers’ roster is way too good for them to be this high on the 2023 draft order.  Matt Rhule has absolutely ruined this team.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

Again, the Raiders’ roster is way too talented for them to be this high.  Perhaps Josh McDaniels will figure it out a bit.

4. Philadelphia Eagles (via New Orleans Saints)

It almost seems unfair that the Eagles could have this high of a draft pick come April

5. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Kenny Pickett era is beginning, but the team has much more issues that who is taking snaps under center.

6. New England Patriots

The Patriots are being drowned out in a loaded AFC.  They have the talent, but I don’t think their roster is good enough to do damage in the conference.

7. Washington Commanders

I am still a fan of what the Commanders have on paper, but Ron Rivera clearly has lost whatever touch he had left from his days in Carolina.

8. Detroit Lions

The Lions have the worst defense in the NFL.  They have the best offense in the NFL.  Even if the defense was only slightly below average, they’d likely be 2-2 or 3-1.  I think they might have something in the Motor City.

9. Indianapolis Colts

I have been a heavy critic of Chris Ballard and Frank Reich for a little while now.  Matt Ryan looks cooked, and Ballard’s conservative approach to general managing is becoming evident.

10. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are a well coached football team that plays hard and stays disciplined.  They simply need more talent on their roster, though.

There you have it.  Through one quarter of the season, these are the top ten teams that would pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.  The rest of the list can be viewed here.
