Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz was traded to the Arizona Cardinals during the 2021 season after a number of seasons with the Philadephia Eagles. He had a good second half to that season and in 11 games with the Cardinals caught 56 passes for 574 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

After that stretch, the Cardinals brought Ertz back in the offseason on a three-year deal, and once again he was productive in 10 games with 47 receptions, 406 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. However, he suffered a knee injury that cost him the remainder of the season.

The reason the Cardinals could trade Ertz this offseason is that Trey McBride, who was drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft by Arizona, played well in his place. Meanwhile, Ertz will be turning 33 years old this upcoming season and the window to trade him if that is the route they want to take, likely isn’t open much longer.

He probably wouldn’t bring back much other than a Day 3 pick but a trade could help create some salary cap flexibility after the 2023 season.
