The Steelers appear to have their franchise quarterback in Kenny Pickett and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them go all out in free agency to protect him and his blindside. This offseason the best offensive tackle in free agency is Orlando Brown Jr., who is the starting left tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The offensive line has been an issue for the Pittsburgh Steelers for a number of years and a player like Orlando Brown Jr. would be a foundational piece that could help solidify arguably the most important position on the offensive line.

However, it would have to be a sizable contract as Brown rejected a six-year, $139 million contract from the Chiefs last year. There is also the potential that he may not even get to free agency if the Kansas City Chiefs decide to use another franchise tag on him this offseason.

If Brown is somehow able to get to free agency, and the Pittsburgh Steelers do sign him, then this would drastically change their draft plans for the 2023 NFL Draft and likely allow them to focus exclusively on the defensive side of the ball.
