Cornerback is the most drafted position in the first round

The position that likely has the most players drafted in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft is going to be the cornerback position. It is a perfect storm of teams needing good cornerbacks to defend against offenses that lean more and more into the passing game along with some excellent players at the position.

This year players like Christian Gonzalez, Devon Witherspoon, Cam Smith, Joey Porter Jr. would appear to be locks for the first round with a second group of players that includes Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, and Emmanuel Forbes who could certainly sneak into the first round in one of the final picks.

Over the years, it has been wide receivers that have typically dominated the first round and now defenses will need to catch up to that talent with this great group of cornerbacks.
