The final player that makes sense for the Atlanta Falcons with their first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft would be cornerback Devon Witherspoon. The Falcons already have an excellent young cornerback in AJ Terrell but adding Devon Witherspoon would give this secondary a great duo at the position.

Devon Witherspoon spent four seasons at Illinois and had 157 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for a loss, five interceptions, and 25 passes defended. This past season was when Witherspoon really put himself in the discussion to be a first round pick with three interceptions and 14 passes defended.

He is not the biggest cornerback at 6’0″ and 170 pounds but he plays very physically and is not afraid to make the tackle. If the Falcons don’t add to the defensive end position or their pass rush, adding another top cornerback could force quarterbacks to hold the ball a little longer and allow the players to get more pressure.
