The cornerback position is one of the deepest in the 2023 NFL Draft and at the top of the class is former South Carolina cornerback Cam Smith. He is expected to be a first round pick and has a chance to be selected in the first 15 picks.

However, at the Senior Bowl it is another South Carolina cornerback that has been making headlines in Darius Rush. He appeared in 23 games over the past two seasons for the Gamecocks and had 64 total tackles, three interceptions and 15 passes defended.

During practice this week, Rush has been a lockdown corner and has not given wide receivers much room to do much. Damian Parson with The Draft Network tweeted out this clip from practice on Thursday and this is the type of plays Rush has been making.

There are a lot of good cornerbacks in the 2023 NFL Draft and there is a chance he may not move up much but whoever does draft him is getting a very good cornerback.
