The first two picks focused on the offensive side of the ball but the defense has one big question at safety. This has been one of their top positions over the years with Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde however Poyer is set to be a free agent and Hyde is coming off a serious neck injury.

If the Bills aren’t able to re-sign Poyer, then a player like Christopher Smith out of Georgia would be a perfect fit for this defense.

The Bills don’t have truly defined roles for free safety and strong safety and ask both players to really be able to handle both responsibilities.

This is something that Smith could do with the versatility he brings. He began his time at Georgia as a cornerback but finished as a safety over the past two seasons. Christopher Smith is someone that can be an asset in pass coverage but also come down to the line to make the tackle.
