The Buffalo Bills were able to extend Dawson Knox prior to last season and he is the established top tight end for this offense. However, they could use another tight end to pair with Knox with Tommy Sweeney set to be a free agent and Quintin Morris more of a receiving tight end.
Cameron Latu has been the starting tight end for Alabama for the past two seasons and had 56 receptions, 787 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns.
However, for the Buffalo Bills in this offense, he should be used more as a blocking tight end at 6’5″ and 250 pounds that would give them the chance to run two-tight end sets, which was something they hoped to do more of entering this season.
The addition of Latu, along with Chris Rodriguez Jr., and the improvements along the offensive line should help jumpstart a run game for this offense that hasn’t really been there for a few seasons now outside of what Josh Allen is able to do with his legs.
