Super Bowl 57 is on Sunday which will conclude the 2022 NFL season. The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in a battle of the best.  The 2022 season is almost over as us football fans will then turn our focus to free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Eagles and the Chiefs are the two teams competing for the Super Bowl 57 trophy, and it’s surely going to be a battle for the ages.

Both teams feature top three scoring offense.  The Eagles also have the sixth ranked scoring defense.  Let’s take a deeper dive into this matchup to see who has the advantage.

Super Bowl 57: Who wins the big game on Sunday?

The Eagles have had an easier road to the Super Bowl, needing to take care of Daniel Jones and the Giants and Josh Johnson and the 49ers.  The Chiefs have had to take care of Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars and Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

The Eagles have the deeper and overall stronger roster, so I’d give them a slight advantage there.

On offense, the Eagles have scored at least 30 points in five of their last nine games, and they’ve held their opponents under 23 points in seven of those nine games.

In the playoffs thus far, they’ve outscored their foes by a 69-14 margin.  Both the offense and defense have feasted.

For the Chiefs, they’ve scored 30 points in just three of their last nine games, but they’ve scored at least 23 points in each of those games.

On the defensive side, they’ve held their opponents to under 20 points in three games, but have allowed at least 24 points in four of those nine games.

The big matchup I am watching is how the Chiefs’ defense can handle the Eagles’ offense.  Kansas City does not have a stellar defense, and I’m not sure how much I trust them to hold up against an elite running game and competent passing attack.

I’m also not sure their defensive line has played an offensive line this good, so I wonder if Jones. and co will be able to get enough of a push to make a difference.

I have no doubts that the Chiefs’ offense will be able to crack the 20 point mark against the Eagles, even with Philly’s elite defense and pass rush.  Kansas City has scored at least 23 points in 11 straight games, and they’ve gone up against some great defenses during that time.

However, I think the Eagles are going to be too much for the Chiefs to handle in the Super Bowl.  I like Philadelphia in this game by a score of 27-23.
