NFL players who can be traded during day 2 of the draft
We’re now in day two of the 2023 NFL Draft and could see some players being traded during the round two and round three selections. Day one of the 2023 NFL Draft left us with quite a few surprises.
One of them that sticks out is Will Levis falling out of the first round. That was quite a shock to me. Also, how about the Houston Texans managing to land CJ Stroud AND Will Anderson Jr in back-to-back picks?
That was stellar work from General Manager Nick Caserio. We’re now in round two where teams can get some exceptional value out of their draft picks, but could we see some players traded during rounds two and three?
NFL players who can be traded during day 2 of the draft
DeAndre Hopkins
There was a rumor swirling right before the beginning of the NFL Draft that the Titans were working on trading up to the Cardinals’ third overall pick in a package that included DeAndre Hopkins, but that sounded fishy from the start.
I think a team makes a play for Hopkins during day two. Whether that’s simply them trading a pick for him or creating a trade package with the player and some picks remains to be seen.
D’Andre Swift
The Detroit Lions made a huge mistake when they took Jahmyr Gibbs with the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. They also signed David Montgomery in free agency, so that leaves the dual-threat running back likely being available for trading.
They only got a fifth rounder for Jeff Okudah, so I think a five or a sixth rounder is enough to land Swift, who averages 4.7 yards per carry.
Courtland Sutton/Jerry Jeudy
Both of the Denver Broncos’ wide receivers have had their names pop up in trade talks all season. Apparently, the Baltimore Ravens were close to landing Sutton. We’re now in day two and I think both Sutton and Jeudy can fetch some day two picks in return for their services.
Could we see the Broncos deal one of their top receivers for a day two pick? Perhaps. I think they’ll be taking some calls at the very least.
