Notable Games

  • Georgia

The first game of the season against an SEC opponent in a huge game, Beasley will have a ton of eyeballs on him and judging him (good or bad) too harshly.  It is an opportunity for him to set the tone for his senior season.

More from NFL Draft News

  • Florida State

This may be the game could decide the ACC Atlantic Division, but it also might be the most anticipated ACC matchup between seniors as Beasley goes up against Cameron Erving who could have a bright NFL future in his own right.  This could be a statement game for both players.

  • South Carolina

The last game of the regular season, a huge rivalry game and a lineman that had some impressive stretches against Beasley last year in Corey Robinson.  This could be a game that might launch one of these teams to a shot at the newly formed FBS Playoffs.  Robinson is far more a power tackle with ballast while Erving is far lighter and more athletic on his feet, so it could provide a nice contrast for Beasley.

System Fit

  • 3-4 Outside Linebacker

This will be the most obvious fit for Beasley for the NFL, if he can put on the weight.  If teams are happy with his bulk, a 3-4 team is the most likely to take Beasley extremely high in the draft.  He could also be employed as a Leo Backer for teams like Jacksonville and Seattle.

  • 4-3 Strong Side Linebacker

This would be more along the lines of the role Von Miller has in Denver.  If Beasley is unable to gain weight, he could find himself in this scenario where he is a 2-down outside linebacker but then slides up to rush the passer as an end in obvious passing situations.  He would be taking on more tight end blocks as opposed to facing offensive tackles in the running game as a defensive end.

  • 4-3 Defensive End

This is the least likely scenario purely on his bulk.  Nevertheless, there are teams that have made this type of move such as the Colts with Robert Mathis.  A team with a strong offense that is consistently able to play with a lead could like Beasley in this role, but it still seems reasonable to expect he would be a part time linebacker or at least that would be an option depending on the situation.

Draft Projection

Based on 2013 tape: Top 75 Pick.

With improvement in key areas in 2014: First Round Pick with a chance to go in the top 10-15 picks in 2015.
