Notable Games
- Stanford
The Cardinal gave Shelton the most trouble of any team last year. He made his share of impact, but Stanford was also able expose every question that faces Shelton going to the next level. This could be a huge game for Shelton to answer questions about his consistency and really force the Cardinal to adjust their offensive scheme.
- Oregon
Not only is Oregon going to be one of the more talented teams in the conference, but they have one of the more talented centers in college football with Hroniss Grasu. The Ducks offense is able to really well equipped to reduce the impact Shelton is able to have on the game, so if Shelton can make his presence felt, it could speak to a big step forward in his development.

- UCLA
The balanced offensive approach gave a great look at what Shelton could face in the NFL last year. That should be similar this year but the Bruins should also have a stronger interior as Scott Quessenberry will be a sophomore and a year better than he was last year.
System Fit
- 3-4 Nose Tackle
This is the best case scenario for Shelton, but it requires him to be more consistent. His strength and ballast combined with his quickness could make for a devastating impact player, but if he cannot be more consistent, teams will have trouble trusting him to play meaningful snaps.
- 4-3 Nose Guard
Athletically, Shelton has the capacity to perform in this scheme. If he can continue to evolve and get better as a pass rusher, it could conceivably end up being the best situation for him.
