Notable Games
- Clemson
Florida State thumped Clemson last year on the road and it stands to reason that Dabo Sweeney has been keeping his players motivated for this game in particular. Williams did not get much opportunity the last time around and in addition to running the ball more effectively, his presence could be important as the Seminoles work to block Tigers’ pass rushing threat Vic Beasley.

- Boston College
The BC Eagles were far and away the biggest threat to Florida State’s undefeated season within the ACC this past season and they did a good job of stopping Williams. It is unlikely that Williams will overlook BC this year as he looks to go out with a big game against Boston College in Tallahassee.
- Florida
The state rival that has been able to boast a talented defense from Urban Meyer’s time there and continuing with Will Muschamp, Williams was stoned against the Gators. The game was ultimately lopsided but it was not a productive day for him and something he will want to do much better with this season.
System Fit
Power I-Back
Williams does a nice job working behind a fullback and got increasingly effective at setting up the boss block as the season progressed. He has experience both as a single back and next to the quarteback in shotgun, but his power and quickness make him really well suited to cut off of the fullback’s block.
Zone Back
Williams has the athleticism and agility to take advantage of holes as they open up and just needs to continue to get better with his vision. He has shown he can make some great plays when he is right in what he sees and if he can continue to improve that ratio, he could be a terrific back with size that can be a valuable addition to a zone team.
