Iowa stud offensive tackle Brandon Scherff had to leave their game against Ball State with a leg injury. The talented Hawkeye tackle is commonly ranked among the top offensive linemen that will be available in the 2015 NFL Draft. Scherff, like a number of Iowa blockers before him, has benefited from head coach Kirk Ferentz’s coaching as one of the better teachers of offensive line play in the country. From players like Robert Gallery, Eric Steinbach, Marshal Yanda and Riley Reiff, Iowa has had an impressive run of linemen that have gone to the NFL with varying results.
The Hawkeyes are set to play Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Purdue over the next three weeks. Certainly, the team hopes he can come back for the game against Purdue, but if he does miss the full three weeks, he would come back for the game against Indiana.
