Defense and Running Game

Brady was beaten up by the 2007 and 2011 New York Giants in the same way his Patriots always beat up Peyton Manning. That just goes to show you that while quarterbacks get too much credit, defense and a good running game is what wins. Remember, in the last Super Bowl the Patriots won to finish 2004, they had running back “Clock Killin'” Corey Dillon to go with that defense.

Dillon had 1.635 yards rushing in 2004 and got the Patriots through the inclement weather while the defense dug in. Brady had come into his own more by 2004 but still did even hit the 30 touchdown pass mark or throw for 4,ooo yards. When it was time, he would dink and dunk his way down the field for a field goal to win the Patriots a close game again behind the defense and running game.
