His Game

Hundley can easily be called a poor man’s Mariota as they run the same type of offense as he isn’t quite as fast. But Hundley has more down-the-field accuracy than Mariota, who largely depends on bubble screens and that type of stuff. However, Mariota has much more pocket presence and Hundley tends to take more sack than necessary for his athleticism.

Earlier this season, I was trying to figure out if he can’t sense the pressure or if he’s trying to hard to prove he’s pocket passer. Against Utah, a common opponent with a good defense, Hunley was actually more efficient of a passer than Mariota. But again, Mariota with his pocket presence, knows when to hold, fold, walk away or run while Hundley took sacks.
