Bottom Line

After beating the USC Trojans, Hunley said on the Jim Rome show, “There’s a very good chance that was my last game against USC..” He has already graduated so it makes sense to come out as he’s playing the best football of his life right now. Scouts have to notice the improvement he made this season and will likely use that to project where he’ll be in the coming years.

During his dark times Hunley’s stock by many had fallen to the second or even third round with scouts still liking his upside. Now that he’s brought his game up to a different stratosphere, his stock has gone into the second round. Should he continue to improve, he could very well make it into the first round with a team needing a quarterback.

Upside plus improvement shown will always make for an intriguing prospect at quarterback because development is what scouts bank on. It shows coachability, the ability to absorb what coaches are trying to instill and  a good work ethic. If he performs well and wins the Pac 12 Championship game, he then becomes a big-game quarterback too and he moves higher into the first round.

It’s all up to Hundley now!
