Virginia Defensive End Eli Harold declares for the NFL Draft
By Peter Smith
Virginia pass rusher Eli Harold has announced his intent to declare for the NFL Draft. After back to back seasons with at least 7 sacks and 14.5 tackles, the junior defensive end will join what is likely to be far and away the most talented and deepest position in this year’s draft.

The Cavaliers, under head coach Mike London, are sending a few talented players to this year’s NFL Draft as safety Anthony Harris will represent the University of Virginia at this year’s Senior Bowl.
Harold could potentially play defensive end or be stood up and be an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. Listed at 6’4″ 250lbs, Harold has the body type and athleticism that could make him attractive to a number of NFL teams. In addition to being a pass rusher, Harold was able to record an interception and take a fumble for a touchdown this season.
The deadline for underclassmen to declare is January 15th and nothing is official until then, but there is little to suggest that Harold is going to change his mind and return to Charlottesville for another season.
