Williams Wants Raiders Too

I remember when McKenzie said, “I want Raiders—players that want to be Raiders and know what it means to be a Raider.” I don’t question outside linebacker Khalil Mack’s desire to be a Raider at all but that’s what McKenzie got it when he picked Derek Carr in the second round. From Bakersfield, California, Carr grew up a Raiders fan as he put out pictures of himself as a little kid in a Raiders jacket for us to see.

Well, if you take a guess at where Williams was born, you would be correct if you guessed Bakersfield, the same place as Carr. He did move to Daytona Beach Florida, where he played his high school football but he went back when it was time for college because he’s a California kid. The most impressionable time of his life was spent as a Raiders fan and his stint on the opposite coast never changed that in him.

So even if McKenzie ends up staying on as G.M., Williams has to be the guy because he hasn’t hid the fact that he wants to be a Raider.
