As reported by Matt Miller of Bleacherreport.com, LSU defensive end Danielle Hunter is going to forgo his senior year and declare for the 2015 NFL Draft. Hunter is now the third underclassmen to make the jump to the NFL from the Bayou Bengals defense along with linebacker Kwon Alexander and cornerback Jalen Collins. Hunter joins an already stacked pass rushing class that is easily the best position of this upcoming draft.

Listed 6’6″ 240lbs, Hunter has a build not unlike that of projected top 5 pick Randy Gregory out of Nebraska. Hunter has been able to make an impact against the run and has the athleticism to help against the pass, but there will undoubtedly be questions as to why he was only able to notch 4.5 sacks in his collegiate career. Hunter did notch 21 tackles for loss over his past two seasons and does a great job of knocking down passes with 6 just this past year.
Perhaps influenced by the decisions of Alexander and Collins to leave, Hunter also had to look at the fact that his defensive coordinator John Chavis, was leaving to take the same position at Texas A&M. This obviously presents a challenge for head coach Les Miles as an already young team gets that much younger in addition to the fact he needs a new defensive coordinator.
