Former Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham declares for the NFL Draft
By Peter Smith
Former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has declared for the 2015 NFL Draft. The announcement came from Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops today, where Beckham spent this season after being kicked out of Missouri. Beckham transferred to Oklahoma but had to sit out the season and never actually played a down for the Sooners. On talent, Beckham is one of the better wide receivers available but substantial off field concerns could drop him substantially and potentially see him not get drafted at all.

Beckham, listed at 6’6″ 220lbs, had a huge sophomore season for the Tigers when they won the first of their back to back SEC East titles after a disappointing freshman season. Issues from drugs to some far more serious accusations that NFL teams will investigate caused Missouri to kick him out of school.
Beckham could have transferred down to the FCS level and was linked to Eastern Illinois, but he ultimately opted to transfer to Oklahoma. The school tried to get the year he had to sit out for the transfer waived but were denied, making the decision to go there look extremely curious both for Beckham and Stoops. Perhaps the hope was that Beckham would decide to stay another year and play for Oklahoma. Beckham was able to practice with Oklahoma but that was the extent of his football activities this past season. The hope for NFL teams is that he used the time to make a significant change in his personal life so that he can have a successful pro career.
