Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown will forgo his senior season and declare for the 2015 NFL Draft, according to a report from Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.  Not to be confused with Malcolm Brown, the Longhorn running back, Malcom Brown is a huge defensive tackle prospect with a remarkable amount of athleticism for the position that could enable him to not only go in the first round but high in the first.

Brown, listed at 6’2″ 320lbs, carries the weight well and has shown he can contribute as a pass rusher in addition to playing the run.  While somewhat raw as a technician, Brown’s raw strength and movement skills have enabled him to become an impact player on the Longhorn defense.  He recorded 38 solo tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass deflection in 13 games as a true junior.

Brown is married with two children, which may have factored into the decision for him to go pro.  While Texas, on the whole, had a disappointing season, Brown had a huge season and should not have to wait long before being selected in the draft.
