Like I mentioned before, the new rules are bringing back the deep ball as the small, extremely fast receivers will have a place. The back-should-fade isn’t going anywhere either so being able to do it both ways makes you the ultimate deep threat. So Green Beckham has the talent to become the most complete deep threat but right now, Smith is it.

His 45-yard catch in front of the whole nation in the National Championship game confirmed his status as the best deep threat coming out. And he’s a little more than that so he is rising up draft boards extremely fast these days. But all five of these guys are going to stretch the field in the NFL so those of us with a need for speed will be watching.

The true deep threat is on the way back in football!
