Former Ohio State Buckeyes pass rusher Noah Spence has decided to take his name out of consideration for the 2015 NFL Draft and transfer to Eastern Kentucky, according to multiple reports. Spence had been declared permanently ineligible by the Big Ten Conference and initially planned to go pro. Perhaps not getting the feedback he had hoped for from the NFL Draft Advisory board in addition to the sheer amount of talent that is in the draft this year, especially when it comes to pass rushers, Spence has decided to get another year of experience on the field.

Spence has a good amount of talent, but simply does not have a ton of tape and with the suspensions, there are some character questions that need to be vetted. The Buckeyes managed to win the National Championship without Spence but he was expected to be their leo backer and a valuable asset on the team’s pass rush. For the Kentucky Colonels, Spence could be a huge addition to their team that can also help to rehab Spence’s image with the NFL and give him more tape to improve his stock.
Had Spence stayed in the draft, his best case scenario might have been being selected on the third day of the draft with a decent chance of going undrafted. Spence has the talent to go much earlier and his stint with Eastern Kentucky could help him get there for a future draft.
