Bottom Line
Dorsett will be the fastest man at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine as his speed is at a different level. And when he gets to the NFL, he’ll be right behind Quentin Demps for the NFL’s fastest man. So of course the label on him is going to be speed-receiver or deep threat but there is more there with Dorsett.
The guy he draws the most comparisons to is Mike Wallace of the Miami Dolphins and I see it. But not only is Dorsett faster but he has is a more polished route-runner at this point coming out. And we know what happened once he came into the league with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ben Roethlisberger.
An NFC player personnel director said to NFL.com of Dorsett, “I really liked what I saw from Phillip Dorsett. Some guys run fast but they have to work hard to do it, which limits what they can do out of their breaks. Dorsett is more of a natural with his speed and movement.
Considered a 5th-round pick before, his stock has risen with the Senior Bowl Week that he’s had.
So where does that put him?
The draft boards I see now have him at 3-4 with the combine to elevate him more.
