What I See

I have no choice but to agree with the physicality of Jones as the measurements on him don’t lie. What also doesn’t lie is the film I’ve seen of him bury any player regardless of what position he plays. Yes, I’ve seen him put offensive lineman on their butts when he comes up and hits them.

But you can also tell that he plays the game from the neck up as he’s good at diagnosing offensive plays. One thing I’m really interested in is his 40-time 3-cone drill because he can run and change directions. He doesn’t get nearly the credit for his athleticism he deserves, especially for his size.

I don’t agree with the scouting world in terms of Jones having to come off the field on third down. No, I don’t think he’s the greatest in coverage but he can handle it and has the athleticism to get even better. I don’t know if that label is more unfair or the 5th-round grade he got from most of the scouting world.
