Scout’s Take

The first thing the scouts noticed when the popped in the tape was his consistent disruption at right defensive end. Then of course he has the long arms that scouts love in an edge rushing prospect at 6’3″, 266 pounds. They really love his combination of burst around the corner and power as he can beat tackles outside and inside.

They also love his versatility since he has had to how that he has the power and length to play the 2-gap, 3-4 end though its’ not conducive to his stats. On occasion, he stands up and comes off the edge and shows he’s really good at it in the process. The scouting world also loves his initial quickness, powerful bull-rush and ability to slip past guards inside.

As anyone wouldn’t, they don’t like the hip surgeries he’s had to hold him out of the 2013 season. They also say that his pass rush is a work in progress. Then they say they don’t like his lack of burst and nifty change of direction that’s expected of a first round pick.
