I like bigger centers, especially when they’re able to handle a nose tackle one-on-one. When your guard does’t have to spend too much time on a combo-block, he can take out a linebacker, opening up big holes in the middle of the defense. Then in the passing game, he’s very aware, usually making the right protection calls at the line of scrimmage, anticipating stunts and blitzes.
And you know from his time at Kansas State, he’s going to come in and grind, earning everything he gets. People love a self-made man and his new teammates will love and respect that just like the old ones did. But he’s not just a heart-warmer, the guy can play the game and if he’s pick where projected in the fourth round, that team has a steal.
