December 20, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers guard Mike Iupati (77, left) rushes at San Diego Chargers defensive end Corey Liuget (94) during the third quarter at Levi

Mike Iupati

San Francisco 49ers guard Mike Iupati is only one guy but he can make the Raiders’ offensive line. If center Stefen Wizniewski walks Kevin Boothe can take over center and the Raiders will be fine there. Then of course the left side is locked down with Donald Penn and Gabe Jackson at tackle and guard.

But the right side is killing the Raiders with Austin Howard struggling with the move to guard and Menelik Watson not ready. If Iupati comes in and plays right guard, Howard can go back to his natural right tackle, where he was a great player. Then the Raiders would no longer have any weaknesses or leaks in their offensive line.

This is a good possibility for the Raiders because Iupati wouldn’t have to move his family anywhere. All the money the Raiders have against the salary cap could be used to make Iupati happy too. Working with an offensive line coach like Mike Tice and the smash-mouth brand of football head coach Jack Del Rio is bringing wouldn’t hurt either.
