The tight end position has really grown in value as some tight ends have become their team’s No. 1 receiver. That’s because they’re too athletic for linebackers and too big for corners to cover. And if you stick a tweener like a strong safety on him, more times than not, it’s going to be even worse for you.

And now, NFL teams are trying to identify him if there is such a tight end in the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine. As you well know, you’re not going to find out until these guys get picked and play a few years. But you’ll get some clues as to who’s who when they start running through the drills.

The NFL personnel world got their first clues today as to what type of tight ends are coming up. Along with weight, height, arm-length and hand size are looked at closely for the catch radius. The NFL personnel world got to see right away today about the third-tackle type tight ends in the weigh in.
