From the Neck Up

After finishing their workout at the combine, Winston and Mariota did an interview together. And when Winston was the tough questions, he maintained his charismatic personality and answered them. And he seemed to have learned from what he went through and appears to be moving on from it.

They say 90 percent of playing quarterback in the NFL is from the neck up and Winston has that down. Between being a 4.0-student in high school coming from a pro style offense, Winston’s mind is his best asset. Former NFL head coach Steve Mariucci went on NFL Network to talk Xs and Os Winston and came away thoroughly impressed.

 On NFL Network’s combine coverage later on, host Rich Eisen spoke on the Xs-and-Os session. He said, “Mariucci says Winston is the most astute X’s and O’s guy that he’s ever put on the board for his draft breakdowns. He was not only answering the questions that Steve was throwing at him but anticipating what that question might lead to next and answering that question before Steve even posed it,”
