Josh Shaw Moving Up

From Senior Bowl Week to now has been a time period of movement for corner prospect Josh Shaw. When the college football season first ended, Shaw was considered by many to be an undraftable player. That didn’t stem from his play, it came from the story about an ankle injury that got him suspended indefinitely at USC.

Shaw seemed to get past that as he talked to scouts and he had a good Senior Bowl Week, capped by and interception in the game. From there, Shaw moved from undrafted or the seventh round at best to the rounds 3-4 border. At 6’0″, 200 pounds Shaw showed how physical he is during Senior Bowl Week but many wondered if he had the speed to succeed in the NFL.

That’s what the combine is for and Shaw showed he does have the speed with a 4.44 in the 40. Meanwhile , Shaw confirmed his physicality by leading all the defensive backs with 26 reps of 225. The NFL is looking for big, physical corners so Shaw could have every well vaulted himself up into the second round.
