Shaw came in a safety and corner prospect but his 40-time is going to get him drafted as a corner. And as he gets interviewed from now until the draft, he has a chance to assure the NFL personnel world that he’s okay. That 40-time is going to make the NFL personnel world want to think the better of him so he made the biggest leap at the combine.
Darby went into the combine on the 3-4 border as the NFL scouting world has questions about his toughness against the run. But in this pass-first NFL, you need corners and as special as he is as an athlete, he won’t last long. He may not go in the first round because of the knocks against him but I believe he made his way into the top of the second round.
And Trae Waynes, who was already in the first round, made the most significant leap in the draft. He answered questions about his strength with 19 reps of 225 and blew through the 40 in 4.31 seconds, showing just what type of athlete he is. So in the 2015 NFL Draft, Waynes has made his way from the 20s all the way up to the top 10.
