The Jacksonville Jaguars had a great interior pass-rush and defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks was the head of it. He had 8.5 sacks for the season but tore his ACL in the season finale against the Houston Texans. They originally had their sites set on Ndamukong Suh, who wants to play in a big city but gladly took Jared Odrick as a consolation prize.
This is a good pick pick up that can rush the passer from the interior and at least hold the fort down until Marks gets back. I actually think Marks is just as good as Suh but Suh gets the hype because of his reputation. It also doesn’t help that Marks doesn’t play in a city of bright lights and the Jags aren’t winning.
But when he gets back, Marks and Odrick are going to push the pocket and disrupt the quarterback. You know the Jags are going to get Dante Fowler in the draft so they’ll have an edge-rusher too. Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts won’t have an easy in the pocket when facing the Jags twice a year.
