Bottom Line

More from With the First Pick

With the acquisition of Murray, the Eagles upgraded the running back position. And while doing so, they got a better system-fit while taking away from the Dallas Cowboys. So all the Eagles lost from their Top-5 offense is Maclin. And he can easily be replaced in the 2015 NFL draft with the No. 20 pick or later in a deep receiver class.

Meanwhile, Kelly brought in Alonso to help with their No. 15 ranked run defense and re-signed Graham for the pass rush. And to cover those receivers in the NFC East, Thurmond and Maxwell were brought in. Philly fans should relax now because that’s a shut-down defense the Eagles have now.

They have the best running back in the NFL now too as they no longer have to play against him twice a year. We will get to see how well his system will work on offense as he will have system-fits all around. Everyone in Philly calls him crazy but in order to see if a system can work, you need all of the tools.

And especially with Bradford and Murray, who ran the spread in at Oklahoma, Kelly went out and got those tools. Then of course, there are the 10 former Ducks and counting as they know the drill. As these former Ducks know Kelly’s strategy and conditioning system, look forward to seeing Kelly turn more Ducks into Eagles.

And he just might change the NFL.

It looks pretty good for Kelly right now.
