#9 Phillip Dorsett, Miami Hurricanes

Dorsett is a legit burner.  If he was 6’1 instead of 5’10 we would be talking about him closer to the top of this list instead of the bottom.  He’s got great hands and his speed gains him great separation.  A solid kick returner, but lacks the shiftiness to be a great punt returner.  He’s great on underneath routes and will punish a safety or linebacker across the middle.

The knock on Dorsett is his size.  He injured his shoulder early in the 2013 season and played pretty poorly until tearing his MCL which ended his season.  He’s willing to get in the way of defenders in the running game, but his size really hurts him here.  Tends to have trouble against big, physical corners.

If a team is in need of a slot receiver, this is one of the best in the draft.  He’s got the speed and big play ability to burn guys deep, but throughout his Hurricane career was never afraid to go across the middle.  Some team will give him a shot with a 2nd or 3rd round pick and if he can stay healthy, should be a productive mid-level NFL receiver.
