NFL.com reported that Johnnny Manziel was recently seen golfing in Shreveport, Louisiana with his father. You would think that meant his time in rehabilitation was over but NFL.com also reported that According to The Plain Dealer, Manziel has not checked out of treatment.

Manziel had a rookie season that wasn’t pretty in anyway and made many question if he’s worth a first round pick. And a big part of the reason why (alcoholism) makes many question the pick even more but to his credit, Manziel is doing something about the problem. Offensive tackle and team captain Joe Thomas shed some light on the situation in an interview with NFL.com.

He said, “Obviously there’s some uncertainty with Johnny right now and that’s why we brought in Josh (McCown). He’s a guy that if he’s asked to carry the flag this year, he’s going to do a great job. There’s a chance we draft somebody or there’s a chance Johnny comes back and he’s a new person and he’s rededicated to football, and he turns into the great quarterback that we expected when we drafted him in the first round.”

Thomas also said, “You know, I think he lost probably a lot of trust among the guys on the team last year by the way he handled himself once he became the starter. And I think he had a lot of time to reflect, I’m guessing, after the season was over by the comments he made in the media and by his actions, checking himself into rehab. … I think those were really positive steps.”

So when he checks out of rehab, what’s next for Manziel?

Is he even welcome with the Browns anymore?

Could he earn himself that second chance Thomas said he needs to earn?

What do you think?
