Philadelphia Eagles Add Tim Tebow

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported today that quarterback Tim Tebow will get another opportunity to play the NFL.  The Philadelphia Eagles are now set to sign him to a one-year deal after being out of the NFL last year. The workout he did for Eagles head coach Chip Kelly last month must have shown that he really improved.

According to The Boston Globe Tebow worked with Tom House, Tom Brady’s personal quarterback, coach the past two years. House told PFT NBC Sports that he believes Tebow has done more than enough reps the right way to get rid of past bad habits.

He said, “When he was released by the Patriots, because of Tom Brady, he came to us.  He had trouble spinning the ball and he wasn’t very accurate.  We didn’t do much conditioning or route trees or run many defenses against him.  We honestly felt we could help him with his throwing, like everyone else, but this time, he got enough reps where the change was made.”

If House is right about Tebow, at 27, there’s still a whole lot out there to be had for him. Tebow had some success in first two years with the Denver Broncos despite his inaccuracy. He went 8-6 with seven game-winning drives, six fourth quarter comebacks and had a playoff victory at the conclusion of the 2011 season.

For Tebow’s legion of Christian fans, expected starter Sam Bradford is still rehabbing from another ACL tear. And despite what Kelly says, his offense runs much better with a quarterback that can run. Not only can Tebow run but at 6’2″, 240 pounds, he can take the pounding a running back could take.

It doesn’t look like Kelly is will be able to trade for Marcus Mariota as the Tennessee Titans may take him or trade the pick for more than Kelly can give. If Tebow’s accuracy can hold up, Kelly and Tebow can change the way they play offense in the NFL with a little help from God. Talk about God working in mysterious ways, this is the perfect football marriage to make that happen.
