Jameis Winston is now the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!

I’ve maintaied all along that this would be the pick, not that it took a genius to know this would happen. In my opinion, on the field, Winston is the best football player in the draft. And at the same time, he’s the most pro ready football player as he did everything a pro quarterback does in college.

And he didn’t do it from a gimmick-like offense ala Andre Ware or Johnny Manziel. Winston won a National Championship and a Heisman Trophy while making pro reads and throwing into smaller, pro type windows. As far as intangibles go, he is known as a fiery leader that refuses to lose when there is a possibility to win.

He has a some things to clean up as far as interceptions and his personal life but his game translates. He has armstrength and accuracy to go with his intangibles and knowledge of pro style football. So he’s going to go into the building and turn the Buccaneers into a better team right away.

And in the NFC South, he could turn the Buccaneers into a playoff team in 2015.

That sounds a lot like Andrew Luck doesn’t it.
