The Cincinnati Bengals selected Cedric Ogbuehi with pick No. 21 in the 2015 NFL Draft. With the Sun setting on the career of Andrew Whitworth, this is actually a solid pick by the Bengals. Depending on how he heels from surgery, he may be the guy that allows Whitworth to spend the Sunset of his career at guard or right tackle.

Ogbuehi is one of those guys that’s so talented that the Bengals took him in the first round despite his knee injury.  He’s a gifted athlete with good feet that allows him to move easily in space and  slide to meet speed rushers. He also redirects well to recover when beaten or against counter moves.

In the running game, he gets to the second level and on top of linebackers quickly and adjusts well in space to moving targets. The fact that he played in no-huddle offense with not much recovery between snaps tells you he is well-conditioned. He’s a versatile lineman that has played right guard, both tackle spots and been matched up against plenty of top edge-rushing prospects.

Therefore, when he is healthy, he’s ready to roll right away.
