The Denver Broncos selected edge-rusher Shane Ray with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. This was a good pick for the Broncos and an even better pick for Ray. The Sun is soon to set on the great career of Demarcus Ware, who he can learn from before eventually replacing him on the other side of Von Miller.
I actually thought Ray was extremely overrated as he was projected by many to go in the top 10. He has good speed but when he can’t beat you with that, I didn’t see what else he can beat you with. I didn’t see the pass-rush moves or hand fighting skills so No. 23 is a good place for him without the weed citation.
But going to the Broncos with Ware and Miller, he’s going to learn the things he does not yet know. How immediate his impact is depends on how fast he learns and how much Ware still has left. But before it’s all over, he will be a star in the NFL and the Broncos will continue to have threats coming from both edges.
