College

The University of Iowa is traditionally known for sending solid offensive lineman to the NFL. And the way he played in college says that Scherff shouldn’t be an exception to that tradition. They generally don’t quite have the feet to make great left tackles but you will get a solid offensive lineman.

Scherff had himself a spectacular senior campaign with 93 pancakes and allowed just one sack. He also had 14 touchdown-resulting blocks for a running game that scored 20 times in 2014. He often looked like a man playing with boys as he used his skills as well as his brawn at 6’5″, 320 pounds.

After the 2014 season, Scherff was awarded the Outland Trophy as the country’s best interior lineman. And in the conference known for it’s offensive lineman, he won Big-10 offensive lineman of the year. He was selected to the First Team All-Big-10 team and unanimously to the All-American team.
